My trainer doesn't believe in automatic waterers for various reasons, most of which I agree with.It's personable preference, I dont actually have much against them.

The reason the horses don't have 2 buckets is because aside from a few of the TBs, a few of the bigger, darker colored horses and my pony, none of them are big drinkers. My trainer, who owns the barn, is onsight basically all day, every day and they are always workers out there. The horses are watered during morning feeding, then rewatered before the hose is put away. They are then again watered during afternoon feeding, then re-watered before the hose is put away. From spring - early fall the horses are also all re-watered in the evening. So I guess the need for two buckets just hasn't come up all that often.

But I will more than likely be putting another one up soon, and moving the salt lick holder. (:
