This is slightly normal for her, she has been really pissy recently but it was due to pain, the vet said her hocks had basically no joint fluid. She had the injections and is moving 100% better. But he said that because her pain prior was so bad she has severe pain memory and will continue t think things will hurt even though they probably don't. She will be in for about 2-3 weeks so hopefully after that time she will be ok and I can basically restart her. I am going to treat her like a horse that is being completely re-started. I think that is the best route. I also think I will not be putting her on the bit right off- she needs to learn that her body doesn't hurt anymore.
Thankfully you are ok! Wow!

She sounds really sensitive with a super low pain tolerance just doing what most would do in the situation - avoid pain or any perceived threat of pain. She's lucky to have a caring owner like you, otherwise things could look pretty grim for her after all of these antics.

I like your restarting idea and hope you document it in a training log
