I try to encourage & inspire kid's but ultimately they have to put out the effort to rise to the top. I tell them there ain't nothing wrong with being kind of ornery (no point in that cause they have all heard some of my story's) but by God your responsible for what you do. I tell them to be ambassadors for the sport of rodeo. When i was going the prize money was small especially compared to other sports but I would always mix with the locals & their rodeo committees to just promote the sport. I was friends with a lot of the stock contractors & fought bulls & was a barrel man on occasion so I done a lot of local radio & tv deals to help promote the rodeos & encouraged other guys to do the same. Now it sure as hell wasn't me but a lot of people like me that have got rodeo where it is today. Hell Bryce won over 50K in Houston alone this year. When i was going 17K would win the world...
