It looks smaller to you HW because the tissue hadn't started to fill in yet; hence the reason we decided to go ahead and leave it unwrapped. The tissue is really coming on now. Plus, there is still some edema swelling around the wound from going from being wrapped in a pressure bandage to totally unwrapped.

KG... you don't know how close I've come during this entire process to just putting a bullet in her myself. But rather than taking the easier way out, I just kept trucking and I think it has paid off. She's had her ups and downs through this but she is healing VERY well considering the extent of her injuries. It's not too often that you get a horse that nicks it's deep flexor and severs the tendon sheath to be able to come back and be as sound as she is. When I go out today, I'll eval her again and take another trotting vid. Like I said, some days you'd never know she was injured. Other days she's sore.
