Yeah, kids are lazy, but I think a lot of it was confidence with little Alin as well. She's got VERY good English skills and sadly knows a ton of slang, so us older ladies had a conversation about sex, vibrators, and buying a bunch of inappropriate lingerie as a gift for a friend and she understood every bit of it LOL. Really smart kid, but she needs to work on her confidence. She doesn't think she is good at speaking English. So, a lot of praise helped her. My bf's brother is the same way. He speaks flawless English, even though I sometimes have to explain vocabulary, but it surprises you when he throws a big word out there. Still, even though he could be my little American brother, he always apologizes for his "bad English". It's silly and has to do with the fact that he doesn't get that he is still in a Farsi-speaking country while his brother is more advanced because he has been here 6 years. Vocabulary gets better, but when you have good mechanics, you can learn anything!

I love that she is excited about shopping hahaha. My boyfriend and his brother want to visit us next year. First it was just my BF, but now his brother is sure he's coming haha! He wants to "pick up" chicks. He used that line yesterday after explaining his crash and burn at his math class yesterday hahaha. They want to go shopping for suits and computer supplies. My boyfriend can't get the specs he wants here. Anytime I mention that people are free to visit the states, I have so many people demanding when I will be home so they can come! I think one of the Brits will come visit next year if I am staying in the US for grad school.
