And tearing down trees that don't belong to them is pretty stinking rude!
My husband actually got sued over taking a tree down once and lost. He was hired by a lady to cut a tree down that was on her neighbor's property and she told him that she had talked to them and had their permission. My husband was naive and just did the job. Turns out the neighbor didn't know and sued both him and the lady. So yeah, cutting down other people's trees is a big no no.

I just don't like anyone being able to walk out of the woods at any time. I have two young kids, dogs and horses. So call me paranoid but I really don't want to have to worry about someone being on my property when I'm not around.
