elitegoldfish,

I completely agree with you on this. I don't mind the dorms. I couldn't live off-campus my sophomore year due to the fact that I didn't have the finances. This year, I definitely had extra money leftover from my year abroad and could have done it. In other words, I spent $2,000.00 less than I would have spent on an average year at my home campus in the UK by getting a few scholarships and living like I was truly, truly poor! haha. Still, I wasn't home to sign a lease and where we are, you pretty much have to do that by November if you want to move in in August, so there was no way. Anyhow, I don't really care. The dorms are great. They have quiet study space. The people are awesome because my dorm is mainly full of juniors and seniors on full scholarship who don't want to pay for living off campus when it is free to live on campus. At least if you had a problem with your neighbor, it could probably be dealt with. If you live off campus, you never know what your landlord will pull or what your neighbors will manage to do. Plus, our campus is HUGE. It takes me 20 minutes to get to most of my classes at LEAST and I live in a very good location for classes. It used to take 30 where my old dorm was and if I lived off campus, I would have to drive to somewhere, pay for a parking pass, and then either walk for half an hour or take a bus. Thus, it's just more convienient to be there.
