I had a young foal that had injuries just like that. He was running and playing in the pasture and didn't stop in time for the fence. It was field fencing. He hit it face first and ended up on the other side of the fence. He had scratches on his nose, chest, front legs and some minor scrapes on his back leg. I was quite surprised to see him on on the other side of the fence with only superficial injuries. Lucky for him.

Sucks if dogs got after your horse. It's not fun to deal with neighbors and their bad dogs.
