Ruger makes a teeny lil' .380 auto - the LCP . I can't own the gun but a guy on an gun forum ( where all they wanna talk about is horses) sent me the hat. It's illegal in California .

Don't feel too bad about not being able to get the Ruger .380 LCP There are tons of stories about mechanical malfunction with them (even at the main US gun show (can't remember the name of it!) when they came out)

The Bersa .380 or .380 CC is probably good for California - they have a fixed barrel, and my two are EXTREMELY accurate, even with my reloaded ammo. It has a key-lock safety on the side of the barrel (that I leave unlocked), and a normal gun safety. And won't fire when the magazine is not in it. I got a set of custom grips for $45 plus shipping that make it even more comfortable to hold. And my favorite part of it is the fact that you can load the magazine, chamber a round, and when you put the safety on, it de-cocks the hammer, AND puts a tab in the way of the firing pin. So if it's loaded and you drop it, no misfire. When you take the safety off, and don't cock it, the first trigger pull cocks and then fires, and then it's semi-auto from there. They're fantastic little guns. I got my concealed carry license this year and these are definitely nice to have.

But you can't beat Ruger for the Cowboy action and mounted shooting pistols!! We bought 4 Ruger Vaquero's and changed the grip frames on all 4 to Bisley grips, hammers, and triggers. Then Ruger went and came out with a Ruger Vaquero Bisley - for a while I think we had the only 4 in our state

I like our Izaak Walton league .22 shoots in the winter. I use my father's old Hi-standard pistol, and my Grandma's old .22 pump rifle. Blow away (competition wise) the guys with the $900 guns too <grin> I've also got a Ruger 10-22 rifle and a couple of Neos .22 pistols that are nice. But I like the old ones better, just for sentimental value.
