Are their boots cared for looking? Of course they can have dirt from the day on them, but do they look like they are crusted over and never cleaned?

*edges dirty, crusty paddock boots behind something* Uh. Yeah, I keep telling myself I need to clean them but it so rarely happens....

I do much better at keeping up with my tall boots, at least?

Hahaha, I can't help myself. I swear too, no one would ever describe me as a snob. It's just something I notice, and it's because of the sort of barn I grew up in and the instructors who were responsible for shaping my paradigm when I was a child/teen. They had exacting standards that they demanded be followed all in the name of "Horsemanship". "Horsemanship" is just a word now a days, but for them and any of their students, it's almost a religion. It's an art, a personae, a lifestyle. All in all, I do think tha we would all thrive if we went back to that ideal, but I know it's not everyone's cup of tea.

I personally love trail riding.. but to me trail riding resembles (at the least) a hunter pace. Often, the pace of the trail ride oscillates between either a foreward trot, a working canter, or a gallop.
