I don't really judge much. The only things I would judge someone on would be ill fitting tack, a person who's too big for a horse, or a horse who is in bad condition.

I have worked at an Arab barn for the last couple years, and before that I worked at a Morgan/Arab/TWH barn, and both trainers I worked for rode in jeans and cowboy boots, even though they show mostly English and SS. I don't think what you wear when you're outside the show ring really matters. All it says to me is "This is what I like to ride in because it's comfortable". During show season we clip, pull manes and wash horses regularly. In the winter though most of the show horses don't even wear blankets, none are clipped, none wear shoes, and we definitely don't pull their manes, lol. They also don't get baths because they'd freeze. Basically they're a scraggly bunch in the winter. I just don't think it's a big deal to have a horse all clipped up and looking nice, and be riding in fancy clothes, unless you're at a show. Just seems like a lot of extra work for nothing.

Photobucket life ain't always beautiful, but it's a beautiful ride
