Yikes! That is scary. Luckily you weren't hurt. I had one of my horses fall on me one time several years ago. I boarded her at a barn that you had to go over a bridge from the trail to get to as there was a small creek running between the property and the trail/road. Well we were going down the trail back home and she turned to quick onto the bridge as she was anxious to get home. All 4 of her feet slipped out from underneath her and she fell on her side landing on my right leg. My knee was black & blue & swollen for weeks and was numb for years after. Lucky for her though I broke her fall & she walked right away from it! lol

I don't think riding alone is to big of a deal either. Obviously it is safer & I have had one instance where it played a huge role in helping me but I don't worry about all the what if's. I would rather just hop on my horse & go out for a nice ride. If you have a nice sane horse, safe gear and a cell phone you should be fine.
