The slang vs. legitimate sentence argument has already been had. Page 45 between Erika and Tia. She claimed to have 4 different native languages - I'd say if you have to put a sentence in an online translator, it's not your native language.

It irritates me to no end when people claim to speak languages when they really only know a few words. Not only is it senselessly arrogant, they're just setting themselves up to look like idiots when they do it.

The Dutch was also out of a translator. The words were translated, but the sentence made no sense. And from what I remember from Spanish, it was the same. Just a literally translation of every individual word, just like an on-line translator works. Someone who claims to be an engineer should be able to speak at least one language without using slang anyway. Conclusion: no engineer and she speaks only English. ETA: I have no problem with someone not being an engineer and not speaking four languages, but why lie about such things?

Some words when spoken can't be taken back
