very few good barrel horses have aqha points. barrel racers compete for $$$$, not points. Jeez have I said that enough times?

You are 100% correct. As just winning AQHA points & a ribbon just doesn't make sense when you can win lots of money to help recover ones expenses it took to get the horse to be a winning horse....

If I ran at AQHA shows, it was usually in the "Open" barrel race they had, where a lot of the entry fee was put in the jackpot to the winners.

I won literally tons of first place ribbons & trophies (high point trophies too) as a kid, I don't need any more dust collectors & more boxes packed full with ribbons, as I now & have for many years, train & win for just MONEY!!!image

I understand the difference, no problem, but where is the proof you won money with that mare?

Well...I spent it all...image

But, I could probably look back through some of my CTBRA results & find where she's won. As she was very consistant & usually won or was in the money in barrels & poles.

A well known woman in barrel racing named Peggy Hall(West, Texas) that trains & competes for a living knows, as I out run her winning horse that was in the same class race & won the CTBRA barrel race & won open poles against her on Midget.

As most any one that has been barrel racing & a member of CTBRA for many years would know too....
