Selah, does your dog shed? Garbo has never shed at all- she has hair, just like a human. Her hair is different though, because it pulls out REALLY easily (as in if we actually PULLED it, it doesn't hurt her unless you do huge chunks). If she is out hunting or something and gets stuck on something by her hair, it's important for her to be able to pull loose. We don't sit around and pull on her hair, image we've just had to take out dozens of burrs and stuff.
Sara, it is the soft fluffy coat that they get under the guard hairs in the winter that should come out in the spring and summer.

From Griffon Point website:

The Griffon has a coarse outercoat and a soft undercoat. He also sports characteristic eyebrows, moustache and beard. This protective coat allows the Griffon to be an effective hunting dog in cold weather and harsh cover.

Grooming is simple. A quick brushing with a slicker brush will remove any loose undercoat. A comb is used for the eyebrows and whiskers. Stripping (pulling out) the outercoat a couple of times a year will keep your Griffon's coat healthy. Stripping does not hurt the Griffon and most Griffons enjoy being stripped.

The furmanatior work just as well for the average owner.
