I could see the smoke from where I live yesterday.... even so it is so far away from where we live (corona area) its always so nervous making... :[ we've had to evacuate, and it's very scary... hopefully you wont have too!! and if so, I hope your trailer is big enough for all your horses........when we evacuated we had 7 horses.......and a 6 horse trailer :S

I'll bet it was scary for you guys last Fall with that Freeway Complex fire though!! Man, that was something else.

I don't have any worries about this fire getting to us here unless something catastrophic happens, because it's still on the South side of the mountains and we're on the other side in the high desert. It would have to burn Wrightwood down to get here.

We joined the local disaster preparedness group last year and I went through the CERT training. I am looking into getting a plan of action for equine evacuations for our County, because when other big fires have hit up here there was chaos, like during the Grand Prix and Old fires, plus the Blue Cut fire in 2002. One of the things we're working on is a centralized listing of places that horses can be evacuated to and folks who are available to evacuate horses out of fire areas that can be relayed to folks during an incident.
