I remember in the fourth grade when George Bush Senior and Clinton were running against each other. My class was assigned as homework to choose who we would vote for and to make a political poster for our chosen president and the reasons why we were voting for them. I can see something like that now being unbiased and fair for learning "social studies" in the classroom...but making a song singing about Obama...just doesn't sit well with me. 10 years ago I probably wouldn't have given a crap either way...but people nowadays are making such a big deal about everything going on in the schools that everything needs to be "fair." Kids should at least have the choice on whether they want to sing the song or not, just like they now have the choice to decide whether or not to say the pledge of allegiance, to "observe" a moment of silence...and whatever else has been brought up in recent times.
