The American Revolution helped pave way to the French Revolution. Governments can't do whatever the hell they want to their people. It was a huge deal.
And the English came first. And there were many more beforehand.
The point being that if the American Revolution was such a good thing, that rising up against British oppression was noble and just, why isn't strong political action against the [perceived] injustice showed by the government of the United States wrong?

And the Dutch revolted against the Spanish, etc etc. Still, it was a huge deal. A bunch of colonies inspiring a country as big as France to throw out their king is a huge deal.

You can dislike your government without dishonoring your country.

What if I dislike the fact that there is a nation?
'dishonouring' your country doesn't hurt anyone. It's not a big deal at ALL.
I honestly think it's a cultural difference. Americans were threatened to have their basic rights taken away, to have simple freedoms removed, and as a whole the colonies fought to keep those rights. That's why it's a big deal here. Hell, the colonies weren't even united at this point EXCEPT in the desire to win back their rights. That's one helluva big deal that these 13 different colonies united against their government.
