I would like to inquire as to whether you would let BRR Melody Lane go at a reduced rate. I would only have interest in her as a companion to my Arabian mare and I offer her a wonderful retirement home. She would never be bred or ridden; you would be more than welcome to keep her papers.
My Arabian mare is younger, but is retired herself, due to an injury. She is 100% pasture sound, but 100% buddy sour. It is somewhat "traumatic" for her when I take her companion, my riding horse, out. They are both the type who are low in the pecking order, so if a mare wanted to come in and take over, that would be fine with them both. (when they were first introduced, the literally walked in circles for days following each other, it was comical; they are both very gentle horses) I own my own 100 acre farm. Currently there are 11 acres pastured, with a 1 acre paddock. Additional fencing is planned for the spring to enclose 30 more acres. My horses are on 24/7 turnout with a 14' x 16' run-in shed. They have pasture access summer and fall, and free choice quality hay winter and spring. I also feed whole oats 2x day. My retired mare gets the oats simply for supplementation purposes. They get a vitamin and mineral supplement along with (fresh ground per meal) flaxseed.
I can provide you with Veterinary, Farrier and training references, as well as provide pictures if you like. I hope that you will consider my offer to retire this stunningly beautiful mare, and I am sure we could come to agreeable terms.
