Got an e-mail back from the lady. Basically it says the mare hurt herself on the trail a year 1/2 ago and the people who owned her at the time did not provide the best of care (her words). She has a displaced hip. Not sure (again her words) if she will be able to be ridden again, but she would make a terrific broodmare (yes, she actually said this). This lady's vet gave her a clean bill of health when he vaccinated her and floated her teeth. She says she was 750 lbs. when she got her, but is now 800 lbs, she is about 15.2 hands. And that she has had the best of care and food since she has owned her. And if she could hang on to her and provide the quality care that she needs she would do so. Anyway, just thought I would update you guys. I think she has taken her phone off the hook as its been busy for along time now.

So what do you do with a displaced hip? Again, need some words of wisdom here!
