Some are in it for the rush and some use the horse to get calmer and relaxed.

I have meet some that can not relax around a horse at all.

What is your favorite part and how safe do you feel?

What settings do you feel the safest and where do you feel the danger?

Do you like horses for the rush or the serenity?

Horses relax me, but I do enjoy the rush of galloping or jumping a few fences on the trail.

My favorite times with my horse have been hanging out at the camp site after a long ride or just being lazying riding bareback and in a rope halter. For me it really depends on the horse too. I never felt safe or comfortable around the grey mare I co-owned for many months, I simply didn't trust her. My mustang mare had some issues and I never felt uncomfortable with or on her. My current gelding is very sweet, though he can be pushy or lazy, but he does a great job of taking care of me. The only times I have felt unsafe on him were due to operator error ie ill fitting saddle and a long trail ride and getting stuck in the middle of bunch of galloping horses being ridden by idiots.

I am one to always wear a helmet though and er on the side of caution, it's just in my nature.

Riding a horse is not a gentle hobby, to be picked up and laid down like a game of solitaire. It is a grand passion. It seizes a person whole and once it has done so, he will have to accept that his life will be radically changed. Ralph Waldo Emerson
