My friend tows successfully with two horses in a steel 2 horse trailer with a tack room with her 2001 (I think is the year) Chevy Tahoe. She has trailer breaks and has never had an issue and boy do we haul.

A Chevy Tahoe is better equipped to tow larger amounts than a F150.

I also would not do it and here is my story ironically about a Tahoe!

Just four months ago I was hauling a steel four horse stock trailer bumper pull with two horses in it. My Tahoe has the full towing package and trailer brakes. Now it also has 200,000 miles on it and has never had a problem but that day it decided to blow it's transmission. $2,500 later I have a new tranny.

In my situation it probably wasn't caused by the load, the tranny was just ready to go but hauling was the final straw. So, my point is don't risk it on a truck that really isn't made to handle that kind of load. Not worth it.
