I had a health cert done for my mare when hubby and I were planning on moving to Utah. Well long story short we were going to be moving by Feb 21. I had the vet come on Feb 2nd for blood and whatnot, paid him in full and in cash that day. I FINALLY got my health cert for her in MAY! Goddamn fucking MAY. He wouldn't return my phone calls, it's a good thing we wound up not moving.
OH another story. I moved out to the SW in Jan '08. My mare was still in the NE. I had to wait to ship her out due to lack of funds. Saved up the money. Got everything arranged for her to leave the NE while I was there visiting family. So she wasn't suppose to be picked up till March 31. It's March 28th and I'm on my way up to the barn to see her and turn her out so she can get some play time in before the 10 day journey on a trailer. I'm like 10 minutes away from the barn and I get a phone call from the shipping company and they say they are there waiting for me and that they need her health cert. which BTW was suppose to be done that afternoon. I had to call and cancel on my vet last minute which royally pissed her off since she had arranged for a rush to be done on the blood work and then has to PAY 150.00 for them to have one done at their headquarters. I was so pissed. A little warning that they were going to be there early would have been nice. I didn't get to turn her out, and had to pack up all my stuff into 2 tiny tack trunks so they could ship it with her since I couldn't fit it on the plane. And the best part is they acted all pissy like it was my fault that I didn't have everything done.
