I'm in the SE TN area. Unfortunately, our pasture isn't good enough to take them through the winter. We also can't store enough hay for an entire year (or more) in our pole barn. There just isn't enough room. Round bales won't work, either. We don't have a tractor to move them (even if we had room to store them), but even worse...our pasture is very hilly. I can just imagine a round bale getting started rolling and going through fences.

I've already posted ads on CL, will check the paper on Sunday. Already asked our trainer to talk to anyone she knows, and I'll call the vet on Monday. Our farrier lives out of the area, so he won't be of any help.

We'll do something. During the drought year, we had to supplement with other roughage, like beet pulp, but the problem around here is getting UNsweetened beet pulp. It's all soaked in molasses. Same with much of the grain...it's hard to find it without some sugar additive.
