I personally feel that clicker training makes it easier because the 'click' tells the horse they did the activity correctly, and the 'click' can be immediately given, no delay at all. The horse learns that the treat comes after the click, but they learn the 'click' means "YES! Good boy!".

I find it's handy with difficult/awkward tricks that would take awhile to recover and administer a treat.

For Rosie: In most situations I would say just stay back there and rub the rope all over, but the way she cocked that foot made me think you did the right thing. She'll get it. =)
