Bratpony,

Go buy "George H. Morris Teaches Beginners To Ride" there was a section that did an excellent job of describing how to verbally couch a rider through their first jump. It's one of the few books for instructors that I have actually found helpful.

Thanks! I will look for this.

We've got the pony club manuals, but I've found their descriptions less than ideal for most kids. It might just be because I'm a very visual learner and just seeing someone do an approximation of a 2-point worked wonders where descriptions had failed. It's always easier to teach kids who learn the same way you do, but I'd love some ideas of how to visualise the position for those who like a vocal description.
