Can you explain this a bit more? I have never heard it before, and I guarantee that the meaning of my barbed wire tattoo does not mean I am a follower. In fact it has nothing to do with the 'traditional' uses/meaning of barbed wire.

I thought you meant that because its so common, people will automatically think it means "follower", not that there is some widely known meaning to barbed wire as "follower". Just like when I see those Asian symbols on white girls, I think follower. Or any generic tribal design, follower. Or star sign, follower. Its only because they are so unoriginal. Sooooo unoriginal.
Pretty much that, but it was early. Not that there is any hidden meaning in wire, just the utter and complete lack of originality or uniqueness.
