When I first got Liberty she was very standoffish (5 owners in 4 years) so it was expected. She was misrable ears pinned and if she could she would just walk away and was a bugger to catch. It took about 9 months until we bonded. I'm not going to lie it was upsetting. Then one day she came to me in the pasture and it has been different ever since. If I go down to the barn and I don't go see her first and she can hear me talking she throws a fit nickering non stop until I go see her. She will put her nose to me and waits for a kiss. Now if she sees me she is right there and God forbid I should stop to pat another horse she will cram all 16'2 of her between me and that horse. LOL

Chica's another story complete opposite of Liberty - loving from the beginning. Enjoys being handled and will follow my daughter anywhere. I guess it just depends on the mare.
