My mare will come up to the fence like she wants you to pet her, when you go to pet her she just moves her head out of reach. Cracks me up when people try to pet her XD But when she is out to pasture and I kiss to her she comes (at a slow walk, but comes) to me. She will stop about 7 feet away and wait for you to come to her XD She doesnt care too much for affection, if you are petting and grooming her without a halter or anything she will walk away shortly. Though she is an awesome little girl, she is great, just isnt too lovey. People are shocked when i say she is a mustang since she is so good. She will nicker for you when its feeding time and your still in the house, too xD

Now the filly is a total in-you-pocket horse. She so got her sires personality, probably the sweetest stud (now gelding) i know. It may just be because she is only 8 months, but she wants to know what your doing and will always be glued to your side to find out. If you leave her she will nicker for you, very loudly. And when your coming out, feeding time or not she gets all excited. She just loves to be loved on and will stand there for you to just pet her. Of course her attention span is a little short, so she may wonder off but she will always come back.

Sorry for any grammer or spelling errors. lol

Edit to add that I am a total mare person, I always seem to bond with them more. However, I do like geldings and studs, but will probably always try and get a mare if im looking for another horse. I also notice that I bond with horses that are scarred, nervous, etc or they just dont want you near them.. I try so hard to win them over that I just end up bonding with them. Probably the reason why I like Mustangs, Mules, and Appys! lol
