Standing rib roast in a crock pot? I think Julia Child just turned over in her grave. Google "standing rib roast" and get a recipe online. Try "Paula Deen standing rib roast." Standing rib roast is a very expensive cut and meant to be dry roasted.

I use my crock pot all the time. Try chuck and rump roasts for beef. Put the roast in the crock pot, sprinle an envelope of Lipton soup mix (I like mushroom onion) on top, pour a cup or two of water on it, turn it on before you leave for work, it's ready when you get home. A pork roast with a bottle of BBQ sauce dumped on top is good, too.

Boneless chicken breasts (I put them in the crock pot still frozen) plus a can of Rotel and 6 hours later, you've got a great burrito filling.

You don't really need much in the way of recipes when using the crock pot. It's pretty much a matter of putting meat in, pouring /sprinkling some kind of seasoning on top, adding water or other liquid, and letting it cook for 6-8 hrs. You have quite a bit of leeway with the cooking time, so don't be too worried about being precise on the time.
