Yeah, I figured this would be the response from people.

I was discussing this with a few of my coaches about what to do when a horse bolts.

Most people think that squeezing your legs will make the horse go faster. Which I'm sure is what everyone here is thinking.

Here's a good example, I ride an Anglo arab mare.

She's very forward and she gets pumped easily, so most people don't want to put any leg on her, However it's the leg that keeps her Quiet.

She'll start cantering sideways and she will take off, but you have to gain control with more leg.

People don't understand this concept.

The horse takes off, Leg = Speed

However,

Leg= Frame, yielding and discipline.




I guess I can talk all I want, but a college diploma doesn't mean squat anymore.. Especially in the Equine Management area.
