The right person without other kids are probably best for a disturbed child. It's so sad ... I really wish the "system" could take kids permanently at a younger age. The person that straightens up and still looses a child is a far less likely occurrence than having a kid in and out of a bad situation before adoption... and that's a price I think is reasonable to pay - in the interest of children. (Of course I am also of the opinion that if you do wrong by a child, you forfeit your "right" to have any more.)

I have a friend who adopted two girls from China (the girls were about 2ish at the time of adoption) and they are very damaged emotionally. They are their only kids and they a totally dedicated to doing everything they need to to make these girls' lives good. It's actually inspiring to see their complete acceptance to what their life is with these girls. I thank god there are people who are willing and have the ability to deal with such children.

Whatever you decide... I wish you nothing but the best.

This forum would greet Jesus Christ with sexual harassment and horrible, horrible physical abuse...and that would be the people who were happy he was here.
