Last night at feeding time, my 3 year old Fugly was crowding me around his feed dish. I had a small crop in my hand and tried to move him off. So he spun his
butt to me and fired off with both back feet. His hoof just glanced off my arm, no real harm done but it wasn't because he didn't try. I was feeding
him in the round pen (his usual routine) so I was able to lunge him a bit immediately afterwards. But, I never got the feeling that he "gave" and
relaxed.
I've not had a horse do this and would like any advice for preventing and working through this issue. Is this an issue that can be corrected and move on or is it something that will crop up from time to time with him?
