When I was little we lived in an old house and the animals would always be staring at nothing, either wagging their tails/purring, or growling/hissing. It scared the shit out of me, every time I would try to sleep I swear to God there were people talking in there. My dog would always be watching that door as I fell asleep. Could have just been an over active imagination, except one day my grandfather made be a big huge wodden hopechest/trunk and I decided to put it in front of the door, when I woke up it was on my bed. Then, same house, I was staying home alone, and I was in the living room that had these huge wooden pocket doors that led into the formal dining room. They were always open because they were painted over years ago, so we couldn't close them if we tried. The dog was sitting with me on the couch, and I just felt very cold, and unsettled, he starts growling towards the dining room. I get up to get a blanket from the closet, and when I sit back down the doors were shut, dog was going ape shit and I heard something angry. I can't really explain it without sounding totally cliche'd but it was the freakiest thing I've heard in my life, I jumped up screaming and ran into the bathroom (only room i really felt safe in in that whole house.) then ran out to get the dog. My dad had to hire a guy to get the doors back in the walls, he said they were fused together.

If it's an old house, I wonder if the bathroom was added much later than the house was built... that'd be kind of interesting to know, eh?

Why do most liberal political arguments boil down to someone shoving their pointy little nose in my face and saying "Well, you see, we've decided that personal responsibility, self-reliance, and independent thinking are old-fashioned and very passe'--not to mention dangerous and problematic!--so we insist you desist on all of the above at once!"
