WTF have I been missing? This is like drinking ice cream! It's Soosossoososossososososossoosso (!!) much tastier and sadly, expensive. I happened to get
some from work as part of a thank you lunch- I got a quart, and it was so so so yummy, I went out and bought more. Damn it. Now this means that I have to spend
extra on milk, and less somewhere else. Soooooooo yummmmy! Any one else find something else along these lines? You need to share now please!

I like the organic milk I have. It's Horizon. I tried a few others and they were nastier than oldschool milk. In fact, when I couldn't find it on
vacation (we were there for a month) I used Cass-Clay. Yuuuuuuck. I stuck to regular milk.
Horizon is the only kind a like. It's smooth and full of flavor. Plus it doesn't loose consistency or flavor when going all the way down to skim. |

And just think, on top of that you're not filling your body with BGH, which I honestly think is causing a LOT of health problems today. For organic milk
here I just run down to Ivans farm

If you want real organic milk , buy a cow and milk her and then drink it , Or do the same with a dairy goat.

Oh and ALL milk has Bovine Growth Hormone in it, organic or not, (its what helps those little beef calves grow in their first few months of life)

I wouldn't mind getting a cow TRD, however, I have never had one- and if I did it would Have to be a cute little jersey cow. I love my goats, but milking
the suckers isn't for me- tried it- bleh. Don't know who was more annoyed, but it's even odds.
Don't you have to process the milk before you drink it to be hygienic by modern standards?? I would Love to have a cow, and milk her, and then save/give some to friends, but after dealing with trying to keep mares milk 'sound', I was honestly a bit put off from the process. Plus that means I have to AI my cow And my horses. Sigh. |

There are people in the US who drink raw milk, but it is uausally a "shared cow" and they know what every bit of nutrient goes into it, but it is
still not safe to drink IMO. Plus its really not cost effective to have a single cow just for the milk. You must feed it, breed it, care for the calf until you
can sell it or breed it. Then you must start all over again.
Red Mare, be sure to do some research on your brand of organic milk to make sure they are what you think is organic, not much has to be done to qualify as organic.

Oh and milk needs to be pasteurized and tested before it is cleared for drinking. In all milk there is no antibiotics, it is tested by the farmer, the shipper
and then the packager for any sort of anomalies and drugs.

The name of the company is "Organic Valley" I don't know much about the process, but do know that this is the Best tasting milk I've had
since I was in France.
I know friends who leave the calf on, and milk in between for their own usage- but as I said, it would be a bigger hassle then it's worth unless I was in a situation where we would all share it. (One I would be happy about as long as everyone maybe pitched in a few bucks to help out.) |

Its a helluva lot safer to drink straight from the cow then it is to drink from a store.
Hmm simple theory here , The Amish. Do you think the vast majority do anything to there milk other then put it in a glass bottle? It doesnt really matter to me anyways , Im lactose intolerent.

I do like the fresher taste of organic milk, but we tend to buy in 1/2 gallon glass jars from the dairy down the road, Not organic, but it is pasture.

Not going to argue with the pro-hormone group, we all have our opinions. I'm just one that prefers as few chemicals as possible in my life, just my way.
