There is something about jumping a horse over a fence, something that makes you feel good. Perhaps it's the risk, the gamble. In any event it's a thing I need. TTL; two years and many more. <3

Your Trillium shows seem to be extremely different from ours. Weird, I didn't know there would be so much disparity between different regions. When I showed large pony, my only options were doing the Novice large pony (2'6") or the Large Pony division (2'9"). I also did equitation... B eq I think... but I'm pretty sure my jumps were still at 2'9". I think it's only been the past 2 years that they've had a number of these divisions and made name changes, like the Pony Hi-Lo was the Training pony division and was only offered at 2 ft., and some classes/divisions vary between the different zones. I know that the Eqs. go by age and you jump whatever height you showed in I think.

Numnah - I usually love your posts but this time.. I think you need to drop yourself a few notches, please. Perhaps you aren't as active in other certain threads, agree with HP's opinions or just overlook them.. but she does come across with a "holier than thou" attitude when it comes to hunters. It's great that she's so intense with her sport, but that appreciation stopped when she started belittling people and acting like if you didn't own the best of designs, you were nobody. Her particular comments that go on about things like "if you do/wear/ride in this, everyone will laugh at you". She says this numerous times. In different topics as well. She comes across as if you have to spend your big bucks to make it anywhere even on a schooling circuit. I cannot even explain how many people wear those bun holders, and the like. No, they don't get laughed at. And if they have a good round, they'll place. I also just get tired of HP's personality of "if you don't ride this/wear this/do this, then you fail.". It's bothersome. What xponies was trying to say about what she has/owns vs. HP is.. Yes, some people are born into money and I'm sure it's great. But then usually you don't have to do anything to get what you want (fancy show attire, for example). While the rest of us have to work hard for what they want, and it's really getting fustrating when I see these types of ridings just trying to dabble in a subject, and HP comes in with her high-and-mighty opinion and makes them feel terrible because they cannot afford things like she has. This has very obviously strayed from this topic, and I haven't personally had any particular run-in's with HP to have any type of vendetta, it's just that type of person gets me seething. I got a job at 15 to pay board and things on my horse. I pay board, those extra bills, I spend my money on my horse's needs and sometimes get little extras. For christmas I got auken paddock boots and mondega halfchaps. They're both my schooling footwear as well as my show footwear. I've had both my schooling helmet (tipperary) and schooling breeches for 7 years. Last christmas I saved up my money and bought an IRH helmet. It's my show helmet and does not come out unless for shows. I bought my show jacket 2 years ago at Value Village, it's black. On my birthday I bought a new pair of Kerrits breeches. They are my show breeches and, again, do not come out until shows. I ride a grade horse with no real background, he's got an big head, not a 10+ mover but he can go, he has a roached/mohawk mane and he enjoys jumping very much. My saddle is a used griffth cc that's seen better days, and I've used my "show" shaped saddle pad for 2 years. When we put some real training into it, we have yet to step out of the ring without being in the top 6 of any show we do (3 different venues, though all schooling level atm). Maybe I'm just the kid that always roots for the underdogs and tries to help them come out ontop, because they appreciate everything they have moreso than people who have things handed to them. And perhaps I must live in a great area, because the only time we have "snobs" on any of our circuits, it's just people brought up the same way as HP with that type of opinion. People are nice, they'll compliment you and even if you have a nasty round they'll still be there to say something nice. I've been beaten out of classes I know for sure we could've won, but in the end I (like 98% of the riders) will still shake the hand of the winner and congratulate them. I guess it's just the way people are brought up. And for the record, I have experience working on the A circuit (I've been behind the scenes, not hopping on my horse, riding and getting off the horse for the groom to deal with and yes.. it happens a lot on our A circuit). I've seen the good and bad, and the schooling circuit would be the best humbling-scenario for anyone. ANYWAYS, back on topic! I just flip my hair up in my helmet to school. I do the same at shows, but just slick my hair back with gel to prevent fly-aways.
