I've had that happen before. Not pretty. Call an equestrian association to get advice and support or a cycling association. At least they can back you up in pushing the police to lay charges.
You may want to try a technique used by cyclist. They carry a kryptonite lock in their hand and use it when a car deliberately tries to run them off the road. If the car causes them to fall the kryptonite conveniently goes threw their windshield or leaves one hell of dent on the hood. If you have lost your balance or are falling you can't control where the kryptonite lands. Hell, put a large rock in a bag and use it for self-protection. This guy is using a car as a weapon.

When I ride my horse I get to forget I have a brain injury I was the daughter who wouldn't lift a finger in the house but cycled madly off in the pouring rain to spend all morning mucking out a stable.

My mistake then. My area has those stupid redneck hicks, but I've never seen anyone intentionally do that. It's a shame. I'm glad no one was hurt. I've had my own experiences with dangerous drivers who come flying at you and then jam on the breaks and lay on the horn. Perhaps the best thing was that enough people from the barn complained and we had the local police frequent that road more than I had ever seen in my life. If they saw us coming, they would stop traffic and let us by.
