I haven't posted in such a long time so please bear with me if it doesn't come out well. My colt has one in his right
ear--looks like another dirt clod in the picture and because of it's location I don't think Xxterra is appropriate. I have seen Thuja oil recommended
and wondering if anyone can give me specific advice on it's use and effects.
How is it applied and how often? Does it cause pain? What does it actually do to the sarcoid--kill it from the inside out or dissolve it from the outside? Could using it incorrectly make the sarcoid worse? If it worked and the sarcoid falls off as I've read, does the area need add'l treatment?
He is 2 1/2 now and I've had him for a year. The vet has had a wait and see attitude--maybe it will just go away--or if I want he suggests freezing it off. It has only grown. If I am going to spend a lot of $$, I'll have the vet freeze it but if there's a safe and painless way to self treat I'd like to try that, obviously.
Just recently I noticed it has some cracks in it--I hope that doesn't mean it's growing again. I put some phytobalm on it and haven't seen any reaction to that.
Right now I can handle his face and ears but if I hurt or scare him I'm pretty sure all bets are off. I don't want to create a headshy monster so I'm hoping to get some advisement here before trying it. If it causes pain as Xxterra apparently does, then I'm not interested.
Thanks for any help.
I should probably explain the picture(if it turned out) That was the first sunny day and he was laying in the roundpen. He's looking at me and hoping I'll just go away and not make him get up!
