| I read this article published in the H&H (a UK magazine - I'm not sure if it is published in the US)
this month with keen interest:
http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/features/5125/279305.html I happen to know Baron, my boy, has asymmetrical feet (his left fore is the larger, flatter one, while his right fore is the 'clubbier' looking hoof) and have always wondered on the long-term effects of the conformational fault - his pasterns seem to cope fine with it (i.e. one is slopier than the other, or more upright), and it certainly doesnt cause any undue lameness (well nothing out of the ordinary) Does anyone else have any experience with this? What should I be saying to my farrier, is there anything HE should be doing to help with the issue? Comments would be appreciated... (I'll try and get some pictures of this front-end this evening, it might make the issue more clear) |
