I have always been curious about my old gelding, he was one of the most laid back TB's I have ever been around, really an everyone can ride horse. I sold him back in 2005 and last I heard she was using him as a 2' horse for herself, and a trail horse for her husband. I had him at a local BNB and they came looking for a draft or draft cross and fell in love. Grabbed him out of the stall and jumped on him and rode him, he wasn't on their "list" so he didn't have any prep. They took him home that night, no vet check or anything, I didn't even get a chance to meet them! My trainer called me to ask if I was willing to let his blanket go with him, I said sure (I mean, for 10K they can have his 3 year old turnout blanket that didn't fit any of my horses...) then an hour later she called and told me he was gone.
He had very little power in his butt and wasn't the best mover, was actually sorta awkward. He was also a "worrier" when he was being ridden if his rider was experienced, he would try to anticipate what you were going to ask, and if he didn't understand he would work himself up. However, give him a beginner or a child and he was like a completely different horse, would "take charge".
The Barn owner spoke to them about a year ago and they were still in love with him.
I don't have any front on pictures, but he was very straight and his legs were clean. Anyway, here are some of the pictures I have!
I had him for about a month her, so about 6 weeks off the track, he was also freshly body clipped
About a year later
At a show...He decided to take a long spot and I was left behind...can you tell, lol? He tended to reach when he jumped and would sorta dive with his front legs. He also wasn't the best at compacting himself so would always go for the long spot.
