The verdict!
Well, lets start off with Poco first.I did a touch up on Poco's Mohawk and redid her bridle path, put fly spray on then put her through the torture of Emily trying to longe her.
Poco is a saint, See if you dont do it the way she was taught or at least a way she recognises as you giving her a command she wont do anything, she'll stand there and look at you like your an idiot.
So I watched that trainwreck start, just watched first before stepping in and showing her. Originally i had her using the longe whip, then i decided until she has the right body language she gets to work sans longe whip. That was very interesting to watch, i told her that I wanted her to walk, trot, and canter her without the longe which, only using the popper (to swing) and vocal commands, She never did get her to canter, but after alot of struggling with the line, a moment for me to yell forcefully at her to NEVER wrap the longe line around herself to take up the slack, alot of poco staring at her and falling asleep, she finally got a walk and a trot, only one way, couldnt get her to turn, at least not when she asked for it. It ended well, i took over after a couple minutes (ok maybe several) and finished her longing up with a good solid walk, trot, and canter in both directions.
Now for Red's verdict.
I was on my way to TSC to get Red a new lead rope and halter that would fit better when my phone rang. It was my vet calling me back with the results of all the stuff i had done. You know its odd hearing someone say "Im calling with the results of the tests for Annabella" vs using her nickname Red, its just well odd. XD
The histopath came back with some little things, nothing major or anything, vet blew it off since nothing was really out of normal with it, The biopsy came back negative for any possible bacteria that may cause issues, Now the culture came back festering, Red had a strong case of rainrot which is why it wasnt clearing up with the basic treatments. Vet was glad we caught it and very glad to hear that it was healing up and if for some reason she starts getting bad again to call her and she will get us an ointment of chlorhexidine to use on top of the baths, hopefully it doesnt come to that.
The vet said if i wanted to do things like riding with her, to still becareful especially with the areas showing contamination still because we dont want to reinfect, told me if i to anything with item contact especially things like driving lines that I use on both horses to be careful for now and just disinfect them.
So good prognosis so far. Woot, hopefully once this is all said and done she wont get it again!
