Once a year - typically you must qualify to show there by showing throughout the year at affiliated shows and accruing points. OscarEra wrote: So how often are Worlds held? And is it an open thing, or are they one-breed shows, like Appaloosa Worlds, Paint Worlds ect We have Horse Of The Year show... Held once a year (obviously ) And it has loads of different classes... There's show jumping, shetland grand national, ridden OTTB (new class), pony club gymhkana championships, and loads of show classes... (all ridden. Show Cob, M+M, WHP, WH, SH, colour, hack, saddle horse ect) Plus it has various performances, a championship drille, and LOADS of shops... I'm not sure if this is similar?

It's no different than other horses who were from "unconventional" crosses that ended up making a big impact on the breed (or discipline). Doc Bar and Impressive come to mind. Might not happen in the first generation, but later on, it will be important.
That has nothing to do with my point. My point was if he had no Impressive blood I would be more.. well, impressed. Then I'd consider him a very unconventional outcross. I guess they can't get that "look" without Impressive blood.

There is no reason to have the attutude that anything with him in their pedigree is a dud.
I don't think that at all. I just think that it's overdone in the halter horses.

So this makes it acceptable? Ok now I'm really going to spray weeds!! LOL

So now, they can collect and ship him as a 2yo, which many breeders do. I waited until my stallion was a 3yo before being collected, (recommended to me, although we could have at 2), and that's what I did. They're all different.
I wasn't trying to say they were wrong in collecting him, I was responding to WMerrickwannabe's post that stated that they "probably" collected him to check his semen and make sure he's not sterile. I was stating that a lot of young stallions have very low sperm counts due to their immaturity and it can change with age. Obviously they felt he was mature enough and did so.
