Glad you weren't hurt worse... I've been in your shoes several times & opted to not push the horse & try to find out the problem. I had a highly recommended vet inject the horse's hocks & said they needed injecting. This was after a few months before I had them injected with cortisone. Which BTW the horse performed perfect right after for around a month. But I knew the cortisone wasn't good for the horse in the long run, so I took it to have HA injections instead. I saw no improvement after spending hundreds of dollars for the injections of both hocks & a front ankle. The vet said he'd seen a lot worse hocks too. So my thinking was the cortisone must have helped the pain that was evidently some where else. Never found where that somewhere else was before running out of money...lol... And I had this horse sold for $10,000.000 if I could figure out his problem & fix it.... Anyway, if I were you, & the horse was truly worth investing good money into, I'd go ahead & spend the money it would take on infrared thermography camera (IRT) views. This way you aren't guessing & know exactly where the horse is hurting. As it may be more than just her hocks....

She also hates the wintec, I won't ever put it on her again. The vet who did her hocks last Tuesday also said that because she was in so much pain she will have a very vivid pain memory that will take awhile to get over it and realize it doesn't hurt anymore.
