Had a terrible day yesterday. Friday my son came home from a friends house and I noticed that his jaw was swollen up. I asked him what happened and he told me that a little kid was swinging a bat and accidentally hit him. I told him that we should probably go to the doctor, he told me he was fine and it didn't hurt that bad. Mind you he is 17 and wants to be a big man about stuff like this, but I told him if it didn't look better the next day we were going to the doctor. Well, he tossed and turned all night and told me that he was really hot, so that morning I took him to the ER. They did a ct scan and his jaw is broken in two spot. They took him by ambulance to a trauma hospital for more testing. After 5 hours of test and waiting to see the specialist, we finally see him and he tells us that we have to come back next week for the actually surgery to repair his jaw. The nurses had my son all ready for surgery, but they just sent us home. Very frustrating, I hope that this appointment will be soon. My son is in pain and can only eat liquids until this is healed. I just don't understand this at all.
