I just wanted to get someone something that would make them smile and I really enjoyed shopping for them. I don't know how everyone else feels about capping off how many posts people have because I don't post a lot and I didn't flake out but I can understand being wary of very new people. I don't think there should be a maximum spend either because its the participating that counts! Oh no I don't thing that is what anyone is saying. I think we are all saying that no one should feel bad if they can ONLY spend the minimum and it shouldn't stop them form participating. But that if you can only spend the minimum it should not be a blanket, generalized, generic gift. Not that anyone here has done that, but i think it has happened to others before on different occasions. this started because of ME! the first year, I got a person who had posted about 4 times on the boards, signed up for this, and for the month that the seceret santa was going on never posted AGAIN!!!! it was really dissapointing for me, because one, she didnt give me alot to go off of and 2 I didnt know ANYTHING about her, and felt like she had taken advantage of the situation at hand... THATS why you have to have a minimum about of posts to participate.

Just too much going on then. I'd do it in January or again next summer though! And Karen - I'm happy to help you plan it. I did a swap in real life once - there were two people organizing it. Once the particpants were signed up, we split the list into 2 lists and the two organizers just matched up their part of the list. (The organizer's name was in the other organizer's half of the list.) That way, no one gets left out.
