Don't worry to much about the substance or the veracity of what you are saying ;( think of an Obama speech) whats important is the teacher sees his favorite words . Tell them what they told you. They are not there to educate you. They are there to indoctrinate you. Very true. I know of several professors that graded essay tests by looking for key words. If you had already proven you had a good grasp of the subject and participated in class, all you had to do was throw those words somewhere in the blue book to get an A. The more the merrier. If your ability/knowledge was in question, then they'd actually read the essays. Especially at big schools, this is important. If Profs have 500 essay tests to grade, do you honestly think they read all of them?? No.

You don't have to be all buddy-buddy, but if shit happens it's best to have them on your side. As for roomies, it's possible to be friends with them, but don't try too hard. You WILL get sick of them, no matter how much you like them. Rooming in an apartment with my best friend from college tore our friendship apart. We're still friends but not good friends and not close friends anymore. It's best if you like your roomies but don't hang out with them much. At WSU?? No, Cal Poly down in SLO. I did my undergrad in CA.

Yeah, because let's either get angry at a student for not understanding the material, or take pleasure in it. Those are some GREAT options. Someone who gets the answer wrong because they're a lazy ass or don't care is entirely different than someone who gets it wrong because they don't understand. And on paper, you really can't tell the difference a lot of the time.
