We used to go ALL out on Halloween and Christmas. I'm talking house lights, yard, decorations, fence decorations, windows, gates, trees, mantle, shelves,
tables...EVERYTHING was decorated.
We've been pretty low key in our decorations since my younger sister hit high school.
But this year, my cousin, who is 5, is spending Halloween with us and INSISTS we decorate. So today we started with pumpkins. We bought some MASSIVE ones at the farmer's market for $4 apiece and I carved the first one today doing a surface carving method. I messed up the first time, and then turned it into a backlight design and carved the otherside.
So, I'll share my pumpkin from today. Granted, it's of a horse...haha..but my cousin is as horse crazy as I was when I was younger, so he's happy with it. He wants to turn our front yard into "a little horse farm" and told me today, point blank, I had to turn all of our pumpkins into horses. Haha.
Here's how it looks in the light:
In the dark
With the backlight
The backlight up close
The fuzzy camera photo looks better..haha.
