Since my daughter has already shared some of her problems with y'all, I thought I'd ask for your help & advice, too.
She has been in counseling and seeing a pediatrician for years, but we have not had a child psych in our area until recently. Now one flies in for 1 afternoon a week. She has been seeing the Licensed Nurse Practitioner since summer and has now met with the psych once. They changed her meds to combat worsening depression, but now the anxiety is taking over.
My parents and her little brother just left today for Europe. They will be gone a month. My husband has been working out of town for most of a year. He should be home Wednesday, hopefully for a while. I have (now HAD) a conference in Portland for 2 days. Jessi was to stay here with relatives, but was too scared to be away from me, so I arranged to have her go with me. Still too afraid. After 3 days of panic attacks, I decided I'm not going to go. I'm sure my school district will be thrilled since it is paid for and non-refundable.
Oh, and her longtime counselor just quit. I haven't had the nerve to tell her yet.
I missed 3 days 2 weeks ago because I had the flu, but I am taking the day off of work tomorrow to get her an emergency appt with the psych. I don't know quite what to do. If this continues, I don't feel that I can leave her to go to work. I am thinking about asking about taking Family Medical Leave.
Anyone else had to deal with issues like this with your kids? PM me if you want.
