Ack!
Last night, I was sitting in bed on the computer and watching my video lectures for class. I could feel the hint of a sore throat starting (which is weird because most of the time, I just wake up with one). I had just eaten pizza, so I thought maybe I somehow burned the back of my throat on the grease or something. However, over the next couple hours, it started feeling worse. Not horrible, but to the point where it was starting to cause discomfort.
I took an Aspirin and went to bed, hoping that by morning it would feel a little better. OMG....wrong! It hurts way worse (still tolerable, but OUCH), but I feel fine otherwise (no fever, body aches, chills, etc). I popped a throat lozenge but the problem is that my throat is irritated right where the nasal passages enter the throat, so it's up too high for anything to reach. I was going to gargle salt water, but it's too hard to get it to hit where it's sore because it's just up too high.
I've had this happen before, a few years ago, and I do remember that over the course of the day, it got much better (almost to where it felt totally normal again). By the next day, it was back to 100%.
Can allergies cause that? I do notice now that my nose feels a little congested, so maybe it's the result of post-nasal drip or something. I didn't notice it last night though. I've noticed myself sneezing more often than usual too. I never used to get any allergies so I don't know how they manifest in me. I was outside all day yesterday though, so it's a possibility I guess.
Blah. I think I'm skipping class tonight.
