A lot of you have probably read my other thread, the one about euthanasia.
I was thinking about it so much today I forgot to share the good news!
I sold my colt today! His mother is the old mare that we are euthing Friday.
Spider has found a great new home with a couple I now. They came by right after he was born, and asked if he was for sale, I told them maybe later on. We
had to wean him early , due to his mother dropping weight so bad, and we have been feeding him up, got him halter broke, and he has been doing really good.
Well the guy called me out of the blue 2 days ago, and asked if I wanted to sell the colt. He and his wife have been specifically looking for a black/white
paint (which my colt was) and still are in love with him. To shorten the story, they have looked at every dark bay, or black white they could find, none of
them were quite right.
They came and looked at my guy again, wife was in love, we talked price, he called me back today. Paid for, picked up, done deal! He even brought his mare
out to our place, and helped pony horses up to the far pasture, and offered his help any time we need it. I also can go see Spider any time I want, as he is
just down the road from me!
sooo what did I do after that?? I went shopping!!! I went to Big R, Safe choice was on sale, bought 5 bags of that, some chicken feed, a 200# sweetlix,
Several new waterproof horse blankets, new pair of jeans (as I only have 2 that fit) some work pants for hubby, dog food....and I still have enough money
for my share of the vet bill on Friday.
So I guess is wasn't a bad day after all.
Oh and some pics of Spider when born.
